Bolling Show - Full 90 Minute Show
Five of Greensboro’s most talented professional and versatile musicians have been rehearsing for more than two years to bring the zany and crazy music of popular French jazz artist Claude Bolling to Triad audiences. Performing a handful of gigs, audiences continue to pack the room, leaning in to listen, and cheering wildly because Claude Bolling’s “crossover” music has created the most popular and tasty fun for virtuoso musicians and lovers of irreverent approaches to music. Bolling’s approach to composition was revolutionary! His “Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano” stayed at #1 on the Billboard Classic Chart for more than TEN straight years - from 1973 into the mid 1980’s. Folks still have his records. Claude Bolling passed away in 2020, but he continued to write music for TV and film in his later years. His “Temptation Rag” was used for the long opening sequence in the Joker movie with Joaquin Phoenix. Stephanie Lindley is opening the Bolling Show with the “Temptation Rag”. Joining Stephanie is Brian Blauch on Flute, Clarinet, and Ocarinas, Gavin Douglas on Classical and Electric Guitar, Virginia Masius on Upright and Electric Bass, and Steve McHugh on drums.
